Lorne Middle School

Robot Science Enrichment Program: Funding enabled 20 students to participate in Robo North America’s 10-week program aimed at inspiring and development future robotic scientists and engineers.

APEGNB Fredericton Branch

APEGNB Haunted Tour: The 2nd annual Haunted Tour expanded its marketing efforts and increased the number of automated props for the ‘fright stations’. Better traffic flow increased the # of visitors which more than tripled the amount of money raised for the Charlotte Street Arts Centre.

Science East

NB Science Fairs: Three regional science fairs were held in the Fundy, Chaleur and River Valley Regions with engineering-specific prizes awarded. Some of the funding was also used to help send grand prize winners to the national Science Fair in Toronto.

UNB Graduate Geology Students

2011 Prospectors and Developers Conference (PDAC): 8 graduate geology students from the University of New Brunswick travelled to Toronto to participate in the 5-day industry event.

2011 Canadian Engineering Competition—Four undergrad engineering students from the Université de Moncton tested their communication, technical and design skills against the country`s best at McGill University.

2011 Canadian Engineering Competition— A second team of four undergrad engineering students from the Université de Moncton tested their communication, technical and design skills against the country`s best at McGill University.

UNB Geological Assn of Graduate Students

Field Trip: 15 graduate students from the University of New Brunswick’s Dept. of Geology travelled to Quebec to study the rock, mountains and glacial features of the Canadian Shield.

2011 Robots East

APEGNB helped Robots East stage the 16th Annual Championship for Atlantic Canadian high school students interested in science, engineering and technology.

Engineers Without Borders

Summit Lecture Series: The UNB chapter of Engineers Without Borders hosted high-profile experts in the fields of global engineering, sustainability and innovation.

As a recipient of one of the Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation’s (CEMF) prestigious scholarships, APEGNB’s outreach program financed the travel costs of UNB engineering student, Erin Flanagan, to attend the awards ceremony.

Camp IX of the Corporation of the Seven Wardens

Iron Ring Ceremony—APEGNB helped offset the costs of the Ritual of the Calling of an Engineer for Fredericton’s newest engineering graduates.

UNB Engineering Undergraduate Society

Orientation Week: 250 new engineering students at the University of New Brunswick attend a range of social activities to get them acquainted with campus life. Events include student lectures, a photo scavenger hunt, a BBQ lunch and an afternoon of games and contests.
