Marlo Rose, P.Eng. MBA – President, 2020
Marlo is a chemical engineering graduate of UNB Fredericton, has an MBA from UNB Saint John, and works as an Area Technical Manager at the Irving Oil Refinery. An avid volunteer, she has been involved with APEGNB as a member of the Saint John Branch in various executive roles such as Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, and Nominating Committee, APEGNB Council since 2013, 2015 Annual Meeting, and the Climate Change Committee. Marlo has also been actively involved with the Fundy Extreme Triathlon Club since 2008 as Treasurer and has been a board member of Triathlon New Brunswick since 2015.
As President, working with Council and staff, Marlo plans to raise the profile of the Association. In particular, she believes that we have an excellent opportunity to build upon our government relations strategy to reinforce our position as a trusted resource in the province, and as the regulatory body for the professions. She believes in continuing our efforts to leverage our educators in our schools through the incredible outreach work of our five Branches. And last, but certainly not least, Marlo acknowledges the importance of a continued focus on 30 by 30 is critical if we are to move the goal post and meet this target.
To accomplish these goals, Marlo and the 2020 Council will implement a new and structured strategic plan. While the work started in 2019, the 2020 Council will have significant work to do and she very much looks forward to 2020.
